Impact Pathway
Tackled an urgent challenge (Primary pathway)
Paediatric patients in both regions often face long travel distances to access specialised care. BLOOM addresses this by introducing cross-border telemedicine, enabling faster diagnoses, optimised treatment coordination, and improved access to modern healthcare services.
Built bridges (Secondary pathway)
Hospitals in Suceava (RO) and Kolomyia (UA) are aligning treatment protocols, training staff jointly, and establishing a cross-border healthcare network. These partnerships are expected to continue beyond the project, supporting long-term cooperation and potential expansion into other medical fields.
What Can Be Reused from This Project (capitalisation filter – expected potential)
Influenced policy / system change – Alignment of telemedicine protocols and procedures between hospitals across two countries, with the potential to inspire similar changes in other healthcare institutions.
Scalable / replicable model – The telemedicine framework, equipment setup, and cooperation model can be adapted by other cross-border or remote regions to improve access to specialised care.
